Project Goals
1 East Plume, known as the Albemarle Building, was designed by Breese and Ferguson Architects and constructed in 1902.
Project Design
CPG provided renovation recommendations that met the owner’s goals while also satisfied the requirements of the historic rehabilitation tax credit program.
Sensitive plan changes and finish selections were made to accommodate the proposed use while restoring remaining historic features, including historic wood floors and high ceilings.
Challenges & Accomplishments
Renovated in the 1980s, the majority of the historic plan was no longer intact, making the limited remaining historic fabric precious.
The proposed design for the project highlighted remnants of the historic central circulation corridor, while allowing for flexibility where historic plan elements had been previously eliminated.
