CPG helps property owners and developers, organizations, institutions, and government agencies document historic resources through research, architectural survey, community engagement, and oral history. This work can result in projects involving National Register Nominations, reports, transcriptions, and review and compliance mitigation.

CPG assists clients seeking to list a property in the National Register of Historic Places with the preparation of a nomination, including supporting documentation, and navigation of the process with the State Historic Preservation Office.

Architectural Survey

CPG’s architectural survey services include both reconnaissance and intensive level, and may be employed for purposes such as National Register or Local Historic Districts, community-wide survey and planning, or environmental review and compliance.

Community Engagement

Community engagement is often at the foundation of CPG’s project design. Community engagement takes many forms and can involve public meetings, online surveys, interviews, open houses, or workshops. We with the client to develop an engagement plan that meets the needs and budget of a specific project.

Oral Histories and Community History Days

Oral history is an important element of historic documentation that gives life and depth to our projects. Oral history interviews and digitization of community-owned memorabilia and historical documents helps fill research gaps and can offer a more complete history of a place or community.

Building Documentation and Scanning

This suite of services represents a broad range of efforts including historic resource photography, HABS/HAER documentation, and full scale resource digital scanning to developing full preservation plans, historic structures reports, or review and compliance mitigation packages. CPG is proud to offer its digital scanning services through the use of our Matterport scanner.

Mitigation for Section 106/Environmental Compliance

When federal permitting or undertakings trigger compliance with environmental regulations, CPG assists property owners to evaluate compliance obligations and negotiate any required mitigation. CPG can also complete mitigation work on behalf of our clients. Potential projects range in complexity and may include architectural survey, historic structure reports, and/or HABS/HAER documentation.
